Extremely dark red, OK brown head. Hint of roast malt aroma, some hops. Roasty, quite a bit of chocolate flavor. Bitter start and finish.

      Package: bottled
Place: Kamuela Liquor Store, Kamuela HI
      Score: 15 points
      Overall Impression (2½)
Yellow opaque, huge head. Smells of wheat and hops, American-style. Big wheat flavor, good hop flavor. Yeasty finish. Not a bad beer, but the usurpation of "Hefeweizen" by American-style beers really bothers me.

      Place: The HopYard, Pleasanton CA
      Score: 14 points

Place: Kamuela Liquor Store, Kamuela HI
      Score: 14½ points

Amber, high carbonation, OK head. Smells just like honey. Fair amount of honey flavor, with a mild American wheat beer behind it.

  • Garden (Fruit Wheat) Beer

Amber-yellow opaque, good head and carbonation. Raspberry aroma, hint of wheat. Berry flavor and tartness early, wheat flavor and sweetness late. Not as obnoxious as it could be.
