Black-brown, opaque. Thick head. Sherry-like oxidation in the aroma, with lots of black malt and some chocolate. Big body - eat it with a fork. Low carbonation. Fairly drying and somewhat acidic. Very warming. Intense black malt flavor. Really quite fruity. Licorice notes. Good malty sweetness underlies it all. Very tasty complex beer.
