Amber, translucent, a few yeasty bits floating around. No head at all. Smells very much like an old barn! Sour, fairly sweet. Very "Belgian"...whatever that means. Very light body. Virtually no carbonation. Some bitterness in finish, along with a grapefruit-like fruitiness.

Very fruity, red apples.

Mouthfeel (9)
Light body, fizzy. Big malt flavor. Nowhere near as dry as most Gueuze. Sweet red apple flavor. Very mild Brettanomyces. Not tart at all.

Overall Impression (2)
This might be a good introductory beer for people unfamiliar with the style, and it is a tasty beer, but it's not actually representative of a traditional Gueuze.

Red, clear, low carbonation, good head. Smells like Smith Brothers cough drops...a good thing. Cherry-sweet. Sweet. Cherry. Hint of sour in finish, but sweet. A real Technicolor beer, if you'd drink too much. I'd like to taste some malt, or alcohol, or something.

Earthy, tart, grassy, floral. Biscuity malt background.

Mouthfeel (10)
Light-medium body, fizzy. Real nice malt base, real nice tartness. Not as dry as I expected, but nicely dry. Grassy, floral, with a hint of citrus.

Overall Impression (3)
Haven't had a Gueuze in a long time, and this is a good one.
