Oregon's oldest microbrewery. Big place...an ex-warehouse. No barstools when I visited in 1993! It's now owned by the same folks who own Spoetzl Brewery of Austin TX, makers of Shiner Bock.

BridgePort BrewPub reopened in February 2006 after an extensive remodeling.

Black, with garnet highlights. Dense tan head. Rich chocolate aroma, and roasty. Medium-big body, real smooth. Real roasty, too. Fairly bitter, both from the hops and from the roasted grain. Lingering black finish.

Bright amber. Lots of carbonation and a big head. Floral aroma, somewhat soapy. Medium-light body, mildly fizzy. Nice malty base underlies lots and lots of herbal hop flavor. Reasonably bitter. Malty sweetness grows throught the finish.

Tasty beer, notwithstanding the phenolic aroma.
