The Spezial is their only year-round beer. They also brew a seasonal Bock four times per year, and they distill a delicious Dunklerbockbierlikör from that. Read all about my February 2008 visit at The "Beer Me!" Blog.

      Deep yellow. Opaque. Thick white head.
      Aroma (4)
      Big banana, some cloves. Nicely fruity besides the banana.
      Mouthfeel (10)
      Medium body, moderate carbonation. Big smooth wheat malt flavor and texture. Big sweet banana flavor.
      Overall Impression (3)
      Very smooth and very tasty. Rolf says this beer is available April-October. It's also bottled year-round by Rothaus.

      Bright deep golden. High carbonation and head.
      Aroma (4)
      Mild sweet malt, with a hint of toast.
      Mouthfeel (8)
      Medium body, fizzy. The toasty sweet malt really stands out over the unfiltered version.
      Overall Impression (2)
      Too fizzy to be as smooth as the other, but tasty nonetheless.

      Golden. Hazy. High carbonation. Huge head.
      Aroma (4)
      Clean malt, with a hint of yeast.
      Mouthfeel (10)
      Medium body, nicely malty and clean. Just a hint of hop flavor and just a hint of yeast.
      Overall Impression (3)
      Very nice clean beer.
