Reasonable beers, OK food, fair service. Not one of my absolute favorites — then again I haven't visited since 1992 — but they draw a good crowd, and it should be on your Berkeley pub-crawling agenda. Run by the same folks who brought you Twenty Tank in San Francisco.

Interesting yellow-amber color. Thick head. As for the aroma…let's just politely say it's "familiar". (As in the wine that Blackadder brought back from his exploration of the African coast.) Thin body, slightly bitter. Unacceptable aroma. Time for another trip to the brewery.

Brown enough to be called black. Very burnt aroma, but not intense. Not bad. Thick and smooth, but with an acid bite. Best of Triple Rock's lot.
