Jacob Sjúrdur Hansen reports:

Irish brothers John Thomas Toohey and James Mathew Toohey founded their Standard Brewery in 1869. In 1979 Toohey’s bought Castlemaine Perkins and in 1980 the name changed to Castlemaine Tooheys Ltd. In 1992 New Zealand beer giant Lion Nathan bought Castlemaine Tooheys.
