Beer List

  • 8.50% abv.

    • Date: September 18, 2006 (#6068)
      Package: draught
      Place: at the brewery
      Score: 15½ points
      Appearance (3)
Bright deep golden. Thick dense head.
      Aroma (3)
      Very very mild malt.
      Mouthfeel (8)
Light body, creamy. Lots of caramel malt. Feels like a nitro beer, but it's not. Big grassy hop flavor, mildly bitter — like a Samuel Smith's beer.
      Overall Impression (1½)

    • Date: September 18, 2006 (#6071)
      Package: nitrogenated
      Place: at the brewery
      Score: 16 points
      Appearance (2½)
Deep dark red. Thick dense head.
      Aroma (3)
      Mildly chocolatey.
      Mouthfeel (8)
Medium body, really creamy. Chocolatey, roasty, and smooth. Finishes maybe a little too clean — possibly due to the nitro pour — a shot of East Kent Goldings at the end would be nice.
      Overall Impression (2½)
(But then I'm partial to the Princess.
