      Golden. Moderate head.
      Aroma (3)
      Sweet, a bit sulfury.
      Mouthfeel (8)
Medium body, smooth. Lots of clean, sweet, grainy malt. Mild noble, floral hop flavor, low bitterness. Chewy finish.
      Overall Impression (1½)
More like a big Helles than a Festbier.

    • Date: March 1, 2005 (#5579)
      Package: bottled
      Place: Liquid Solutions, Tigard OR
      Score: 20 points
      Appearance (3)
Deep dark red, real pretty. Moderate head.
      Aroma (4)
      Malty, dark chocolate, raisins, roast.
      Mouthfeel (10)
Big smooth body, low carbonation. Intensely malty, with a burnt brown sugar character. Tastes a lot like EKU 28; the body is lighter and the alcohol is less, but the flavors are very similar.
      Overall Impression (3)
One of the best Doppelbocks ever!
