Very very black, with a dense brown head. Smells hugely malty and hugely roasty and sweet. Big creamy body, very low carbonation. Very very malty and very very roasty. Mildly sweet at first, but a hop bitterness creeps up later. Lingering black finish, with just a bit of papery oxidation.
    • Date: August 22, 1998 (#3046)
      Package: bottled
Place: Cock and Bull Publick House, Green Bay WI
      Score: 16 points
      Overall Impression (3)
Black, dense brown head. Chocolatey aroma. Thick, sweet, lots of chocolate. Fairly acidic roasty finish...with more alcohol, it would make a passable Imperial Stout. 17° Plato. Contains "Antioxidant E222", which is lecithin.
