Date: April 20, 1998 (#2741)Package: cannedPlace: Siebel Institute of Technology, Chicago ILScore: 10½ pointsOverall Impression (2)
Golden, low carbonation, thick head. Skunky beer...in a can?!? Smells very sweet. Tastes light, sweet, and yes, a little skunky. Slightly sticky finish. The instructors here at Siebel opined that the brewer intentionally adds mercaptans to the beer to satisfy the expectation of its market.

Very very black, with a dense brown head. Smells hugely malty and hugely roasty and sweet. Big creamy body, very low carbonation. Very very malty and very very roasty. Mildly sweet at first, but a hop bitterness creeps up later. Lingering black finish, with just a bit of papery oxidation. -
Date: August 22, 1998 (#3046)Package: bottledPlace: Cock and Bull Publick House, Green Bay WIScore: 16 pointsOverall Impression (3)
Black, dense brown head. Chocolatey aroma. Thick, sweet, lots of chocolate. Fairly acidic roasty finish...with more alcohol, it would make a passable Imperial Stout. 17° Plato. Contains "Antioxidant E222", which is lecithin.
