Deep dark red, thick head. Diacetyl odor on caramel aroma, lots of fusels. Richly malty all the way through. Lots of wood character. Mildly drying and warming. Fairly roasty. Thanks to Steve Olson for the sample!

Red, some haze, thick head. Very slight odor of oxidation, but still very pleasantly malty. Thick, much darker caramel character than 1999. Lots of oak character, raisiny, sweet and warming.
