JJ Bitting is under the New Jersey Transit tracks on Main Street, one block south of the station. It's an old brick building that looks like it might have been the station itself once upon a time. The beers come from a 10-barrel DME system; the fermenters are right smack in the middle of the main dining area for all to see. Growlers are $10 new and $7 for refills. JJ Bitting is the home of the WHALES.

      Score: 16½ points
      Overall Impression (3½)
Golden amber, thick head. Toasty malt aroma with spicy Centennial hops. Medium-light body. Big maltiness does a great job of supporting the very big spicy, citrusy hop flavor and almost-big bitterness. Finishes on the malty side. Good beer.
