Dear Content Owner,

I would like to ask permission to post a POI(s) (Point of Interest) files of the BeerMe data.  You already have a google earth file kml.  I will just take that file and run it through GPSBable to convert it to a .gpx file that can used in many GPS models.  You would be welcomed to post the file for download also.

I have already done the conversion.  It took about 1 minute to create, a couple of minutes to load on the GPS and the GPS mapping software.  Thank you very much for the Google Earth file!

I do not work for a GPS company or website and am only interested in sharing PIOs in this case breweries.  I can also list your website as the source for some free advertising with your permission.

Thanks!

Cool.  Thanks.   I made two files one with entire world and one with the US,HI and AK.  Send me an email to the address I used to register this account and I'll send the files to you.  Please send me a note every now and then so I can update the files.  I'll have script to run to do the update and if you have updates I can automate it to send you an email as often as it makes sense.

Mr Steuven, and Mr. Tick;
The GPS POI's are phenomenal. I've used them in my Garmin Nuvii in both the Southern and Northern hemispheres. I have a request of Mr. Steuven. Can you provide additional data so that actual street addresses, phone numbers and websites can be loaded with the POI's?

Regards, Malt

That's not a bad idea. I'll have to think about just how to go about it: I've sold my database for commercial purposes a few times, and if I make it freely downloadable, I'll lose that potential revenue stream. On the other hand, I want this site to be as useful as possible for non-commercial beer lovers like yourself. Let me give it some thought.

It would be terrific if you could. I recently travelled New Zealand with your POI's in my Garmin Nuvii and it was great, and accurate. The street address + phone numbers would be a great addition. I travel everywhere with this now.

By the way, there is a brewery there in Blenhiem NZ, Moa Beer, that is not on your website or Google Earth data. They are on the web. They produce a very nice dark (or Noir as they refer) lager among a few others.

Cheers, Malt
