Historical notes from Jacob Sjúrður Hansen:
Baldur was originally founded as a soft drink factory. It was bought by Albani Bryggerierne in 1996 for the production of discount beers under the “Slots” brand. Albani was sold to Bryggerigruppen (now Royal Unibrew) in 2000. That same year Baldur was sold off to Carlsberg and closed down. The brandname “Slots” is owned by Royal Unibrew but originally comes from the Slotsmøllen brewery in Kolding. Maribo Bryghus now brews discount beer for the Royal Unibrew brewing group under the “Slots” brand name.
