Founded in 1923 in Kinshasa, Bralima is one of Africa''s oldest breweries. It now has production facilities in five other cities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as one bottling plant of its own in the capital. Recently, an intensive program of modernisation was begun at the plants at Kinshasa and Boma, which were re-equipped with new, state-of-the-art machines. The other facilities will follow soon. Bralima produces a wide variety of beers and other beverages, including the African favourite Primus, alcohol-free Malta and many soft drinks.
