The Brewery was sold to KARSBERG-BRAUEREI in Homburg/Saar in 1988/89. In 1991 the brewery made a big 100 year birthday-party and produced about 120.000 hl p.a.( Trierer Löwenbräu Edelpils, Petrisberger Premium Pils, Malzbier and No-Name-Beer for Supermarkets). In 1994 the Karlsberg-Verbund bought the Königsbacher-Brewery in Koblenz an the Produktion of Malt and No-Name Beer changed to Koblenz. The Production of Petrisberger was stopped, Edelpils is brewed in Homburg by Karlsberg. The brewery was closed, the buildings and of the nicest german beergardens were broken down. Today nearly all former "Trierer Löwenbräu" Restaurants sell KARLSBERG UR-PILS.
