The exterior of this second Great Dane installation looks for all the world like a loft condominium; in fact, that's exactly the kind of neighborhood it's in. Inside, there's a nice big bar area and lots of restaurant seating downstairs, and another bar and lounge upstairs, which is the only place smoking is allowed before 10:00pm. The 15-bbl brewhouse is located right in the front window, with the serving tanks near the downstairs bar, and the fermenters above.

Bright yellow opaque, moderate head. Mildly smoky aroma, with mild bananas. Medium chewy body, fizzy. Mild banana flavor, cloves show up later. Good wheat sweetness. Lingering clove/banana finish.

Black-brown, big nitro head. Roasted malt aroma. Light body. Big smooth roasty flavor, mild sweetness. Very mild herbal hop flavor and bitterness. It's called a "Sweet Stout", but it's as dry as any "Dry Irish Stout".

Deep dark red, big dense head. Smells like gingerbread! Medium-creamy body. Smooth dark caramel maltiness, with hints of ginger and cinnamon. Just sweet enough. Very tasty session beer, except for a faint hint of diacetyl. If there's a lot of alcohol, it's well-hidden.

Deep amber, hazy, small bubbly head. Huge citrus hop aroma. Medium body. Huge citrusy Cascade flavor, big bitterness. Good toasty malt flavor underneath. Maybe just a trace of diacetyl. Mildly astringent.

Deep dark opaque red, moderate head. Big sweet caramel aroma, with lots of herbal hops. Big body. HUGELY malty, with lots of caramel. Big herbal hop flavor. It's probably quite bitter, but the maltiness keeps it in check. Big drying alcohol character. This is a very tasty five-year-old beer.
