True to its name, Corner Pub is a friendly neighborhood tavern at the corner of Reedsburg's 1st and Main, with a long bar along one side of the room and a few tables on the other. There are five televisions around the room for watching sports events, and two pool tables and one plastic dartboard if you're feeling more active. Brewer/Owner/Bartender/Chef/Janitor Pete Peterson closed his EndeHouse Brewery in early 2002 and moved his brewing equipment about a mile up Main Street to this new place. I tried to get some news out of him, but he didn't have time to talk...not out of unfriendliness, mind you, but the bar was packed at 5:00pm on that Wednesday night, and the customers kept him jumping! He did mention that he hasn't planned any special events nor beers for the holidays, because he's too busy just trying to keep up with the demand. It's a nice problem to have! Along with the three beers brewed in-house, there are a number of industrial tap handles, and a bottle cooler with a reasonable selection of imports and Wisconsin micros. Pete won't sell you any samples of his beers, but with small drafts going for just 75¢, it's easy to sample them that way. The food menu is simple, consisting of a few sandwiches and some finger food, but there's free popcorn, and besides, this is a Corner Pub, not a fine restaurant.
