Visited: October 19, 1994

Opened: 1992

Annual Production: 16,000 bbl

Now that Breckenridge has their big new microbrewery on Kalamath Street, they don't do any more brewing at this location. It's still worth a visit, though; the pub is still open, directly across Blake Street from the east side of Coors Field.

Very nice amber. Good carbonation. Diacetyl and brown malt aromas. Good body, but diacetyl detracts.

Place: Willman's Bottle Market, Grand Island NE
      Score: 15½ points

Amber, fairly high carbonation, OK head. Caramelly, slightly spicy aroma. Chewy, malty, hint of chocolate. Pretty well-balanced. "Best when enjoyed by 3/21/96."

Nice amber color, white creamy head. Crystal clear. Alcohol aroma, with fresh spicy hops. Good body and balance. Bitterness OK and fades fast. A little sweet. Mike's favorite. This tastes like a very strong beer, alcohol-wise.

  • English-Style Brown Ale
    • Date: October 19, 1994 (#446)
      Package: draught
      Place: at the brewery

Light brown, flat. Subtle brown malt aroma. Smooth and clean. Some astringency. Maybe not sweet enough.

  • American-Style India Pale Ale

      Package: draught
      Place: at the brewery

Amber, but much more pale than the Avalanche. Clear, good head. More spicy hop aroma. Very smooth. Lots of hops, but very well-balanced. Bitter but clean. Good beer!
