Hoppy started out as a beer marketing company in San Jose in 1994, evolved into a microbrewery in Auburn in 1997, and metamorphosed into this brewpub in Sacramento in 1999. Who can guess what's next?

      Brown, hazy, big white head. Ginger aroma, nutmeg maybe. Good body, hoppy, same spices as aroma. A little too bitter, but not bad.

      Amber, moderate carbonation, nice head. Tettnang aroma. Good body, lots of hoppy caramel flavor. Not bad, but not as good as I remember it. There's a map of the constellation Sagittarius on the neck label...maybe it's a code for the bottling date?
