There's an electric immersion heater at the bar in case you find the beer to be too cold. Brauerei Fässla is immediately across the street, and the Maisel Bamberger Weissbier Haus is a few hundred yards up the road. Spezial also has a Biergarten at Oberer Stephansberg 47, open 3:00pm-11:00pm Tuesday-Sunday.

      Medium body. Chewy. Big sweet malt flavor with just a little smoke. Finishes toasty and sweet and clean.

      Overall Impression
      Beautiful bright tawny golden, with a nice thick head. Real smooth clean smoky aroma. That's good beer. Medium-light body, richly malty and richly smoky. Exactly balanced between assertive and subtle. Lingering wonderful smoky finish. Spezial uses Weyermann malt for their beers, but they do their own malt-smoking.

      Deep red-brown, with a thick dense head. Fairly smoky aroma. Medium smooth body. Real nice smoke flavor, somewhat less assertive than the Rauchbier. Malty sweetness and smoke all the way through.

      "With some smoke." Dark golden opaque. Thick head. Mild banana aroma with lots of wheat malt. Medium mildly fizzy body. Lots of wheat malt sweet flavor with some bananas. Clean wheaty flavor. They say there's "some" smoked malt in it, but I don't taste it.
