Formerly a brewpub on Telegraph Avenue, Bison closed their restaurant to concentrate on making beer and hard ice tea. In 2009, they moved all of their production to Mendocino Brewing in Ukiah.

      Aroma (3)
      Spicy, malty. Lots of toffee, hints of roast.
      Mouthfeel (9)
      Big body, really smooth. Lots of sweet caramel malt along with a big spiciness. Very nice toffee character. Fairly bitter, but very well-balanced.
      Overall Impression (3)
      Bottle-conditioned.

      Intensely biscuity and fruity.

      Hugely malty and cream. Big resiny, earthy hop flavor, nicely bitter and nicely warming.

      Real good smooth beer.

      Richly malty, really spicy, lots of coriander.

      Medium-big body, fairly fizzy. Lots of malt. Earthy. Spicy. Some coriander-citrus character. Mildly warming. Clean finish with a hint of hop flavor.
      Overall Impression (2½)
      Pour carefully: it's a bottle-conditioned beer.

      Intense gingerbread and molasses.

      Medium-big body, real smooth. Intense gingerbread-molasses flavor, to the point of a phenolic smokiness. Fairly sweet and malty. Nice anise note.
