Golden, very low carbonation, good head. Clear. Malty-sweet aroma. Excellent balance! Great body...a little on the sweet side, but a really nice beer. "The Original SLO Brew."

Near-black red, really nice head. Roasty aroma, not assertive. Coffee flavors OK. Again, it disappears quick. Tasty while it lasts. Who hasn't brewed a "Cole" Porter?

  • Barley Wine-Style Ale

Deep yellow, some haze. Low-moderate carbonation...most I've seen today! Malty-sweet aroma, some alcohol. Not assertive. Barleywine flavor and body without (some of) the alcohol. Malty-sweet...could stand some bittering hops. Not a session beer, but reasonably tasty.

  • Oatmeal Stout

Red-amber, great head. Very low carbonation. Caramel nose, hint of chocolate? Having a real hard time identifying the flavors...quick bitterness rapidly fades to nothing, then it's gone! Not much here to impress...still MUCH better than bottled version!

August 1994 selection. Thick white head. Clear amber, low carbonation. Hoppy nose, subdued. Good body. Caramel sweetness. No bitterness until the finish, where it remains faint. Contract-brewed by August Schell, New Ulm MN.
