Birmingham also makes some beer for the Abita microbrewery in Abita Springs LA. Brewing Techniques ran a good article about Birmingham's history in their July/August 1996 edition.

Birmingham was reported as closed in August 1998, with the Vulcan and Red Mountain brands being contract brewed.
