Dark and sweet and fruity. Alcoholic.

Mouthfeel (8)
Big and chewy. Dark cherry flavor with the malt. Sweet and burnt, like scorched brown sugar. Some wood notes, coconut. Lots of alcohol.

Overall Impression (2)
"Ale brewed with cherries, brown sugar, vanilla beans, and oak chips".

Deep red-brown, clear, good head. Malty, smoky, spicy aroma. Big, smooth, sweet, very smoky, esp. in finish. A little warming late. Extremely tasty beer! A little more alcohol character would make it perfect. Tettnangs show up very late. "7 different malts: wheat, pale, dark. Cascade and Tettnang hops" 1997 Spring Beer.

Bright amber, moderate carbonation, thick head. Big toasty malt aroma with fresh fruity hops. Medium body, fizzy. Caramel malt and herbal hop flavor with a mild bitterness. Clean hoppy finish.

Deep red-amber, high carbonation, moderate head. Sweet, floral-herbal hop aroma. Medium body, brief taste of caramel malt, huge mildly bitter hop flavor and finish. Real good beer. Thanks to Bob Bultman for the bottle!

Red-amber, clear, not much head nor carbonation. Spicy-brown aroma. Big carbonation bite! Good body, lots of caramelly-sweet flavor. Caramel-hop finish. "American Amber Ale". Thanks to Dirk Starck for sending this bottle!

Jet black, with a low brown head. Smells sweet and black. Medium body, fairly fizzy. Sweet, very roasty, with lots of anise and hints of coconut. A little hop flavor shows up at the end. Tasty beer, almost too complex for the style.

Golden-amber, no visible carbonation, good head. Very much like Rogue's typical aroma. Good body, bitter at first, with a nutty, malty flavor later, lasting through a fairly sweet finish. Thanks to Dirk Starck for sending this bottle!
