      Score: 18½ points
      Appearance (3)
      Deep garnet. Moderate tight head.
      Aroma (4)
      Huge chocolate. Mild roast.
      Mouthfeel (9)
Light body, low carbonation. Sweet, with lots of chocolate and roast. Fair grassy bitterness. The flavors are assertive enough to make the body seem a bit thin.
      Overall Impression (2½)
      Good beer, though.

    • Date: February 18, 2007 (#6336)
      Package: bottled
      Place: Liquid Solutions, Tigard OR
      Score: 14½ points
      Appearance (3)
      Bright ruby-red. Moderate foamy head.
      Aroma (2)
Butter and brown sugar, with some alcohol.
      Mouthfeel (8)
Light body, moderate carbonation. Quite sweet, almost but not quite syrupy. Lots of brown sugar flavor. Sweet sugary finish.
      Overall Impression (1½)
Not a great beer, but I've certainly tasted worse all-malt beers. This one is "made from sugars, does not contain any barley, rye or wheat malt, brewed using Challenger, Liberty and Cascade hops and specially prepared sugars" for gluten-intolerant people.
