Deep red-brown, moderate head, floating chunks. Very mildly malty aroma. Light body, lots of brown malt flavor, mildly drying, mildly pleasantly phenolic. Much drier and hotter than Gouden Carolus, with less yeast character.

Golden, hazy, high carbonation, massive head. Mild spiciness in the aroma, along with lots of sweet malt. Light silky body that's not as fizzy as it looks. Richly malty with a fine Belgian spiciness and hints of bananas and cinnamon. Nice smooth alcoholic finish.
