Visited: April 5, 1994

Opened: 1994

Closed: 1998

Annual Production: 2,000 bbl

Fremont closed in 1998, but they're said to be seeking a new location. The current management took over the old Brewpub-on-the-Green from Bill Owens. (Some of the old management took over Buffalo Bill's.). Beers are average to good, with generally high alcohol contents. Good food, reasonable prices and service.

Directions: 880 into Fremont. Take the Stevenson Boulevard exit and go east. Fremont Brewing is a couple of miles along on the right, not far past Fremont Boulevard.

Weak head. Very red. Minimal carbonation. Aroma a little sharp. Maybe the hops, but more likely it's a little off. Big beer...thick and sweet. Bitterness is mostly background but long in finish. That "off" aroma is in flavor too. Sharks vs. Kings on TV.

This is a RED BEER. Good white head. Opaque. Very spicy aroma...lots of caramel too. Good body, spicy hops. Generous hint of Fremont house flavor.
