Formerly Courage Brewery.

A history lesson, courtesy of Andrew Bissett:

Long ago in 1775, Samuel Smith and John Smith (Who were brothers) decided to set up a brewery in Tadcaster. This turned out to be quite successful as their recipie was one of the best in the world at the time. Just a few years later in 1778, John and Samuel had an argument. The result of this was that John went and set up his own brewery next door to Samuels'. To this day, Sam Smiths brewery stands where it was originally founded. John smiths brewery still stands where it was today, but its history is much more complicated.
