Brown, clear, moderate carbonation, loose short-lived head. Malty-brown aroma. OK body, good malt flavor. OK balance, hops aren't very assertive. Big carbonation bite erases any finish.

Deep golden, low carbonation and head. Malty, clean aroma. Light, malty, fizzy, hint of quick bitterness in the middle.

Date: March 13, 1998 (#2445)Package: bottledPlace: Capital Liquor, Grand Island NEScore: 14 pointsOverall Impression (2½)
Brown, moderate carbonation, good head. Smells brown, with some hops, some corn. High carbonation, medium body, good caramel flavor. A little astringent at the end. "Invented by a Dos Equis brewer in 1924." "German bock"...I don't think so. -
Date: September 10, 1997 (#2234)Package: bottledPlace: Willow Glen Liquors, San Jose CAScore: 13 pointsOverall Impression (2½)
Red, low head, lots of carbonation. Sweet, caramel aroma. Thin, some brown malty flavor. Not a lot here. Reminds me of Dos Equis Amber Lager.
