Red. Some haze. Lots of head for a 12% abv beer.

Huge "
Thomas Hardy" malt aroma. Some alcohol. Bready, biscuity.
Mouthfeel (10)
Big body, fairly fizzy. Massively malty. Smoky. Alcoholic. Fairly sweet.

E. Dupont calvados casks for six months. Bottle conditioned.

Date: May 22, 2008 (#7044)
Package: bottled
Appearance (2½)
Bright golden. Chunky. Thick head.
Aroma (3)
Sweet malt. Very earthy. Mildly spicy.
Mouthfeel (8)
Big body, moderate carbonation. Fiercely malty all the way through. Some
diacetyl. A bit warming, but nowhere near what I expected.
Overall Impression (2)
Real good strong beer, except for the butter. On the other hand, maybe the "butter" is actually the pumpkin and pumpkin seeds that were used as ingredients in this beer.
